LSU quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels is making a Top 30 visit to the New York Giants, who pick sixth in the 2024 NFL draft.

Daniels' agent, Ron Butler, relayed the news through Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

That report dropped soon after word emerged of Daniels' impending visit with the Washington Commanders, who sit second in the draft.

North Carolina QB Drake Maye is set to visit the #Commanders next Tuesday and Wednesday, sources say. #LSU QB Jayden Daniels will be in Washington on a visit the day prior.

On the final days of pre-draft visits, Maye and Daniels will be with the team that holds the No. 2 pick.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on the latest episode of "The Adam Schefter Podcast" that signs point to Daniels landing with the Commanders.

"I will stand behind that," Schefter said (h/t Bryan Manning of Commanders Wire). "The signs continue to point to Jayden Daniels going number 2 to Washington."

Every single sign points to USC quarterback Caleb Williams going first overall to the Chicago Bears. The biggest one is that Rapoport previously reported Williams' Top 30 visit to the Bears would likely be his only Top 30 visit, period.

So the intrigue begins at No. 2. It's clear the Commanders, who traded last year's QB1 Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks, are taking a new signal-caller. The question is whether it's Daniels, UNC's Drake Maye or perhaps even Michigan's J.J. McCarthy.

Most mocks and opinions have Washington leaning toward Daniels, according to NFL Mock Draft Database. It's hard to argue with that pick, especially after he torched college football to the tune of 50 total touchdowns (40 passing, 10 rushing), 3,812 passing yards and 1,134 rushing yards.

Ultimately, it's very possible that the Giants, who are doing their due diligence on the quarterbacks in this year's draft class, won't have the chance to select Daniels. He'll still be in East Rutherford, New Jersey for a visit, though, as the team appears looking toward the future and finding a replacement for incumbent Daniel Jones.
