After being released by the Houston Texans on April 17, quarterback Brian Hoyer reportedly has found a new team.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Hoyer and the Chicago Bears have agreed to terms shortly after the NFL draft ended on Saturday.
The timing of the decision was expected, as on April 27, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Hoyer planned to wait until after the draft to decide where he would play.
The Bears weren't the only team Hoyer drew interest from.
La Canfora reported on April 21 Hoyer left his visit with the Denver Broncos without a contract, noting he will stay in touch with the team as well as the New York Jets, while the Pittsburgh Steelers and Bears were "monitoring [the] situation."
On April 20, ESPN's Adam Caplan reported Hoyer talked with the Jets on the previous night and arranged a meeting.
At the very least, Hoyer will bring some experience to the Bears. He also threw for a relatively healthy 2,606 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions over 11 games last year.
Despite Houston discarding him, Hoyer will get another opportunity to prove himself.
