New Bond Movie Spectre Destroys $37 Million Worth of Aston Martins

Car enthusiasts, look away! Gary Powell, the chief stunt coordinator for the upcoming James Bond film, Spectre, revealed during an interview with The Daily Mail that they destroyed $37 million worth of Aston Martins while filming in Rome for a very, very short scene.

“We set the record for smashing up cars on Spectre,” Powell told the site. “In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film.”

Yup, they purposely ruined seven specially designed Aston Martin DB10 sports cars. The cars were specially designed for the 007 flick and even featured the famous ejector seat.

The scene in question, which is reportedly set against the Colosseum, the Tiber river, and the Vatican, features Bond, played once again by Daniel Craig, in his Aston Martin being chased by his nemesis, Mr. Hinx (Dave Bautista), in a high-powered Jaguar C-X75.

Spectre hits theaters Nov. 6.
